Greg has over 18 years of Investment Banking experience and has advised on capital raisings in excess of US$1.4 billion and mergers and acquisitions with a deal value of US$2.65 billion. In 2016 he co-founded Taurum, during which time, Greg advised mining companies throughout Africa, including leading the Asanko Gold and Gold Fields joint venture transaction. Greg’s experience includes platinum group metals (PGM), gold, diamonds, nickel, copper, chrome, iron ore, coal and mineral sands.
Prior to Taurum, Greg was a director for 10 years at RFA Consulting, a corporate finance advisory business focused on the mining sector, where he advised on several complex transactions spanning the full spectrum of services including acquisitions, BEE transactions, capital raisings, debt arranging, de-listings, disposal processes, listings, restructurings and strategy.
From 2004 to 2006, Greg also worked in the Corporate Finance team at Investec Bank. Greg completed his articles at Deloitte in 2001 and stayed on as a senior manager in the Corporate Finance division working on due diligence, valuations and fair and reasonable opinions until 2004.
Greg obtained a B Com (Accounting Sciences) cum laude from the University of Pretoria and was admitted as a Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)). Greg is also a qualified Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) and a CFA® charterholder.
